The goal of this project was to create a surveillance system on a local wired network. Cameras were connected to a Raspberry Pi device along with a microphone. These devices were activated when movement was detected. Captured videos are then stored in a MariaDB database.

Face recognition

A pre-trained face recognition network was implemented during the development phase. It worked well for up to 3 people in the camera view. Good accuracy was achieved only when faces had proper lighting and were closer than 70 cm. As this feature was an extra, no further work has been done to run it on a Raspberry Pi.
